Mark J. Wade, MD, FAAP is a board-certified pediatrician with subspecialty training and expertise in adolescent medicine. Dr. Wade did his undergraduate training at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Technology in Troy, NY, attended medical school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, completed his pediatric internship training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, his residency in pediatrics at Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, NY, and his subspecialty training in adolescent medicine at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. Dr. Wade is a noted expert nationally and internationally for his work in pediatrics, prison healthcare, HIV/AIDS and medical missions work
Dr. Wade has committed his life to serving the neediest of the needy, both domestically and internationally. Here at home, Dr. Wade has spent the past 30 years delivering, developing systems for, and overseeing the provision of pediatric primary healthcare to children and adolescents in juvenile detention, foster care, and child welfare agencies, as well as creating and managing at the highest levels innovative primary care services in public health hospitals and clinics. Dr. Wade’s philosophy is that quality comprehensive healthcare can be delivered to every segment of our population in a cost-effective manner, regardless of the economic or health status of the target group. With a particular commitment to and expertise in urban healthcare, Dr. Wade’s goal is to improve the overall health status of urban communities and decrease healthcare disparities through health education and comprehensive primary care delivery.
Dr. Wade has been doing international medical missions work in Africa, the Caribbean, Central and South America and Southeast Asia for over 17 years, and in 2000 founded Arise and Walk Ministries Foundation, Inc. (AWMF), a non-profit, 501©3 medical missions organization. AWMF has directly provided or financially and materially supported the provision of life-saving healthcare to thousands of people worldwide, most of who are in Africa, Haiti and the other Caribbean Islands.
Last but not least, Dr. Wade, an ordained minister, resides in Saddle River, New Jersey with his wife of 32 years, Mayra Suero-Wade, DDS, MPH, and has three children, Mark Jr. (26), Christopher (23) and Amber (19).
